K+N CITY Berlin relocates to Potsdamer Platz

K+N CITY was a focal point at the opening of the König + Neurath showroom in Berlin-Mitte, impressing visitors from the office furniture trade.

Berlin, November 2009 – Leading office furniture manufacturer König + Neurath opened a new showroom opposite the famous shopping arcades of Potsdamer Platz in the heart of Berlin-Mitte, setting new benchmarks in the presentation of the company’s product portfolio. The modern architecture of the office complex provides the ideal context for the innovative K+N CITY concept, which forms the basis for their integrated approach to office solutions backed up with a full consultation service. The showroom opening on 11th November 2009 was celebrated with product presentations of the two latest chair models, OKAY.II and JUVENTA. More than 30 office furniture dealers experienced a wide variety of office environments live, and they had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the finer details of the diverse products in the König + Neurath programme.

Experiencing the K+N CITY feeling in person
Efficient use and high quality of space, those are the two K+N CITY focal points. The 500 m² showroom imparts a pleasant, open atmosphere as soon as you go in. In the entrance area, customers are welcomed with various team workstations featuring the products TALO.S, TALENT.S and DO IT 4 with the acoustically efficient PIANO storage system, as well as the high-end management workstation PENSO.M. The subtle, modern colour combination of light grey, dark grey and black is given a touch of freshness and vitality with the addition of apple green. Large, black industrial lighting units are used to illuminate the showroom. The absolute eye-catcher of the lighting concept is the oversized desk lamp “Great Luxo” in black, which presents the working area in the right light. A “boulevard of chairs” featuring the latest models such as PUBLICA, CHARTA, OKAY.II and JUVENTA in the monochrome colourways black, grey and white takes the visitor up a wide staircase to the upper area of the exhibition. Here, the following CITY areas are presented: My Base with the products BASIC 4, LOGO.S and the high-end management system CONLINE.K. The partitioning system two2one is used to separate this area from the Forum, where conference system PLENUM.K is used in combination with the media wall and the CHARTA conference chair. A further highlight is the 360° large-format panoramic photos of Potsdamer Platz by well-known Berlin photographer Jürgen Burkhard, day and night shots which have been integrated into the HORIZONTE partitioning system. The colours turquoise and orange create visual highlights in this zone. The Market Place is characterised by the workbench as a meeting point, as well as EXCITE, the flexible cube system. The lounge area invites visitors to stop for a quick chat on their way through, or it can be rapidly transformed into an action zone, where among other things the JUVENTA und OKAY.II chair presentation at the “Talk of Town” event was held.

The centre for all aspects of the office
But designing the showroom as K+N CITY opens up even more new perspectives. The idea is for the premises to become established as a competence centre in which lively interaction relating to all aspects of the office takes place. The first seminar dates for 2010 have already been fixed. Furthermore interdisciplinary events are being organised to enable dealers to strengthen bonds with their customers. Opportunities are also arising for Berlin business representatives, because from now on they have a contact to advise and help them with any queries. The aim is to build up a universal network to keep the region informed of the latest findings in workplace research and how they can be put into practice. “Obviously we are delighted with the furniture trade’s interest in our K+N CITY showroom. For us that’s the first step towards turning the new facilities into a competent Information Centre for Office Solutions”, is how Andreas Lehmann, the Sales Director, sums it up.
